Find all of our recommend products for this month together, in one area in our shop under the This Month In Your Garden banner! If you have trouble finding it, please ask one of our cashiers to locate it for you!

For more garden goodness, be sure to subscribe to our weekly newsletter and follow us on Facebook and Instagram

✔ Deadhead! As blooms fade be sure to deadhead your annuals and perennials to keep those babies flowering! We recommend using E. B. Stone Organics Ultra Bloom 0-10-10 on a regular basis to help set new flowers too.

✔ For healthy roots, shoots and overall growth, apply E.B. Stone Organics All-Purpose Plant Food 5-5-5

✔ Ask our cashiers for ladybugs! Never a bad idea to add a few more beneficial insects to your garden - and they’ll take care of those pesky aphids too!

✔ Give your houseplants a summer vacay and move them outside. Keep them out of direct sun but a change of environments and an extra boost in air circulation is good for their all-around health!

✔ It's summer, can you feel it? Don't forget to lather the sunscreen and grab a hat before heading out into the garden. We have a wide selection of hats available in the Garden Shop, Atrium and down at The Lazy K!

Happy 4th of July! Celebrate in style with our red, white and blue decor including pillows, hats, lights and cook-out essentials from The Lazy K!

PLANT NOW

Shop Tuberous Begonias, Petunias, Marigolds, Zinnias, Impatiens, Geraniums, Gerbera Daisies and a whole lotta hanging baskets to instantly transform your garden. For that hot spot in your garden, plant Vinca rosea or Zinnias (especially the 'Profusion' series) that can take the heat!

  • Look to our Native Section for plants that are naturally great in the landscape - and built for our California summers and winters!

  • Our Hydrangeas are in full bloom! Don’t miss these beautiful flowers in every color imaginable!

  • Stroll through our Edibles Section for a great selection of lettuces, kale and herbs!

  • For plants that thrive in summer, visit Succulents & Cacti for heat-tolerant plants. Remember that not all succulents are created equal - stop in and let us help you pick out the perfect plants for your garden!

FEED

  • For garden-wide growth, apply E.B. Stone Organics All-Purpose Plant Food 5-5-5!

  • Keep those bloomers blooming with a regular application of E.B. Stone Organics Ultra Bloom 0-10-10.

  • Got citrus? Feed your lemons, limes, oranges, mandarins, tangerines and even avocados too with E.B. Stone Organics Citrus Food 7-3-3 or Master Nursery's Citrus Food 12-8-4. This is vital for any citrus that you have in a container - every time you water nutrients are leaching out of the soil. If you're noticing yellowing leaves with green veins then it's time to apply Master Nursery's Iron Plus.

  • Give your hanging baskets an application of Liquid Gold Fertilizer 15-6-3 to keep those beautiful flowers blooming. This formula is a soil penetrant and also contains iron, zinc, manganese.

WATER

  • Your plants will need a little more hydration now that it's warming up! Check out our selection of hoses, sprinklers and watering cans to ready your garden for more heat!

  • Going out of town? Book the Plant Nanny! Pair this terracotta stake with a water-filled wine bottle and watch as it slowly waters your plant for you! Recommended for your small container gardens and houseplants too, find it in both the Garden Shop and in the Atrium.

  • Reduce your water usage this summer with an application of Hydretain. It’s our recommend product to increase water retention! We tested it on a few of our hanging baskets and with an application of Hydretain, the basket didn’t wilt until 8-10 days after the initial watering! (Whereas the one without it wilted after the first day!) Hydretain works by coating the roots of the plant, as the water evaporates from the soil and passes in water vapor form, it condenses the water molecules directly onto the roots! Questions? Talk to our Nursery Manager, Geoff!

  • Don't forget to check your irrigation and fix any leaks! The heat is here!

PESTS

  • Keep the mosquitoes away with our brand new Spartan Mosquito Eradicator! Easy to use - just fill with water, shake and hang! Utilizing pheromones to attract the mosquitoes, they then feed at the trap and die. The 2 traps in each package will cover an 1-acre area for up to 3 months.

  • Be sure to keep yellow jackets, hornets and wasps away with one of our Yellow Jacket Traps! Does last year's trap need a refill? We’ve got everything you need in our shop to keep those pesky buggers away.

LAWN

  • It’s time to feed your lawns to keep them healthy and green! We recommend a regular application of either E.B. Stone Organics Nature’s Green Lawn Food 10-1-4 or Master Nursery Master Green 25-6-4! Lawn looking a little less than green? We recommend an application of Revive for a quick greening!

TREAT & PROTECT

  • If you're noticing worm damage on your Petunias, Geraniums and veggies, apply Bacillus Thuringensis (Bt) weekly. You'll find it in the garden shop labeled: Caterpillar Killer Spray with Bt.
